Africanized Honey Bee

Also known as “killer bee” these bees guard hives aggressively and attack in great numbers.  The stings from Africanized honey bees kill around 1-2 people per year in the U.S.  These bees are considered more dangerous then other bees because they will pursue their threat for over 50 yards in distance, they attack in great numbers, swarm frequently and are more easily annoyed.  Honey bees are often mistaken for killer bees.
